Waveney Folk Club - What's On

Pennyless make a welcome return to the Waveney Folk Club. Pennyless are a four piece folk band consisting of Les: guitar and vocals, Penny: Violin and vocals. Ray: banjo and mandolin, Colin: bass and mandolin.
This experienced line up produces a special folk music sound that is distinctly English. Pennyless perform lively, quirky and downright mystical songs from folklore, medieval history and their own musical minds.
Directed by folk troubadours with fiddle and guitar their instrumental arrangements are irresistibly fiery and melodically golden with warm harmony vocals. Working alongside the original material they throw in the occasional roof-raiser from Irish, European and American roots tradition. All in all creating a distinctive performance of character, humour and variety; thereby promising to deliver a highly entertaining evening of folk club music.
